Cultural Festival 2013
09 September 2013

Kapa Haka Perform at Cultural Festival.

On Thursday 29th August, 58 of our Kapa Haka children performed at the Christchurch Primary Schools Cultural Festival, at CBS Arena. It was a packed house, with an estimated audience of 2500 people. Despite pre-performance jitters, the children gave an outstanding performance. Special acknowledgement to Ella Corner and Navada Tipene-Kingi, for leading our waiata (songs), to Alisha Hitchens, Sophie Behrnes, Laura Brophy, and Lucy Parkes-Dolan for supporting our junior children during the performance, to Awanui Thompson-Ruka and Raiha Leighs for explaining the meaning of the Paparoa St waiata and haka to the audience, and to Tiaki Ogilvie for leading the haka. We are so pleased for all our Kapa Haka children, you did Paparoa St School proud!

Deb Ogilvie, Shaun Ogilvie, Amanda Keith, Kate Mould and Janet Andrews.
